Either Full Submission or Polytheism

At the beginning of the blessed Month of Ramadhan, and during this holy month, we often read and learn about the blessings of this month and the significance of fasting in this month.  The immense blessings of this month motivate most of us to be at our best in order to accumulate as much reward as we could. In this blessed month the rewards of good deeds are amplified.

Without a doubt, the holy Month of Ramadhan is one of the greatest months for Muslims and believers to return to the right path and to train their souls to pursue the righteous and pious habits that are commanded by God through His representatives on Earth.

However, regardless of the blessings of this month, at all times, we need to remain vigil and we need to keep our hearts and tongues in the right direction.  Why? Because there are deeds, which could readily transform us into polytheists and being on the path of polytheism prevents the attainments of God’s guidance and blessings.

As a reminder, I would like to post one of these horrendous deeds in this post.  By helping ourselves via seeking knowledge, self-restraint  and dicipline, we could prevent the nullification of our good deeds, which we need not only to help us accumulate rewards in hereafter, but to help us open our hearts, eyes and ears in this world.   Through good deeds, the barriers in front of our hearts, eyes and ears are removed, which in turn helps us see reality for what it is and experience reality as it really is.

Let us be very careful about what we utter with our tongues and how we feel in our hearts. To help ourselves in shaping our inclinations and feelings, we could and should continue to commit goods with the right intentions and also continue to persistently pray to God for His grace and mercy upon us.

May all of your prayers, fasts and good deeds be accepted and rewarded by Allah the Almighty in this blessed Month of Ramadhan.

Now, without any further ado, I present to you the following Good tradition.

English Translation:

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Abu Nasr from Abd Allah ibn Yahya Al-Kahely who has said: Abu Abdillah (peace be upon him) said: if some people believed and served Allah as the only God with no other gods , prayed, paid alms (Zakat), had pilgrimage in Ka'ba and fasted in Ramadan then after all of that they talked about something that Allah or his messenger did and suggested another act or said : 'it would be better if they did something different', if they said that or just felt it inside their hears they would be polytheists.

Then he read this verse: "But nay, by thy Lord, they will not believe (in truth) until they make thee judge of what is in dispute between them and find within themselves no dislike of that which thou decidest, and submit with full submission." (4:65).

Then Abu Abdillah (peace be upon him) said: You have to submit with full submission.
